Student Responsibilities
Read and adhere to the student handbook policies and regulations.
- Read, familiarize, and adhere to the student policies and campus or program regulations. Failure to adhere to policies or regulations will result in disciplinary action.
- Obtain and carry a student card.
- Understand that you are registered in a program of scheduled courses. Ensure that you are taking the correct courses in your program. Report any errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Report any changes to your name, address, or telephone number. Complete the appropriate form and forward it to the Enrolment Centre.
- Follow an appropriate dress code. Respect allergy sufferers--refrain from using strong/excessive fragrances.
- Eat in designated areas only. Food or drinks are not permitted in the computer labs or classrooms.
- Student transcripts will be withheld until payment of tuition and fees is received by SIIT. Promptly forward tuition and fees invoices to your Funding Agency for payment.
- Turn cell phones off during class and exams. Contact the Campus Director or Site Coordinator for emergency alternatives.
- Apply for graduation by the posted deadlines.
- Treat your education as a job.
Student Services and Enrolment Management Department
The Student Services and Enrolment Management unit collaborates with other SIIT campus locations and services on matters involving students. The unit acts as a service for admission, registration, recruitment and convocation. The unit works with the Dean’s / Manager’s units, Security Services, Campus Directors, Site Coordinators, the Life Coaching Office and the Finance Department. A variety of services are available for students at each campus and site location. Contact the Campus Director or Site Coordinator of your program for more information on services at your site.
The office of Student Service and Enrolment Management is located at the Saskatoon Campus, Room 204, 229 – 4th Avenue South, Saskatoon, SK. The toll free number is: 1-877-282-5622.
Student Status
Student status is determined based on the program length and/or the number of classes the student is registered in.
- Full-time student – four (4) or more classes in a Semester.
- Part-time student – less than four (4) classes per Semester or pending program criteria.
A student’s status is considered Withdrawn or Required to Discontinue following withdrawal from a program.
Student Identification Card
Students must be enrolled in a full-time (9 weeks or longer) program and their status on the registration system must be confirmed prior to receiving a student card. Students can obtain their cards from their Site administrative assistant.
